About our family:

My name is Melissa, my husband is Don and we have three children, Aly (8), Landon (6), Axel (4) and Turbo – our English Bulldog. We are a fun and active family and we like to travel. Our current nanny just went to Hawaii with us for Spring break. We also like to cook and entertain for friends and family on our weeks off. We are a clean and organized family and do not micro-manage how you construct your days with the children. Our kids are well-mannered with no disciplinary problems or special needs. On our weeks off, we are gone with the kids a lot so you'll have the house to yourself to recoup often. If you are interested in this position, I recommend you google Valdez, Alaska. This place is GORGEOUS but it is not for everyone. We get more snow than anyplace in the United States! The city is well equipped to handle its removal so it's really there to play with! We are a smaller but close-knit community with very friendly people. We camp and play a lot in the summer!

Our ideal nanny is:

Responsibilities (on your work weeks): - Healthy cooking for the kids only - MUST be honest and able to communicate - Creative activities with the kids - Structured and organized - Light house keeping after the kids messes. - Help the kids with homework - Children’s laundry -Errands - Keep children’s bathroom tidy (they can help) - Take kids to and from community activities and school SCHEDULE My husband (former police officer) and I work week on/week off for the Alaska Pipeline. We work 12 hour days. It makes our family dynamic wonderful when we can come home to our children that are ready for bed: eaten dinner, bathed, teeth brushed and in their pajamas. This allows us to give them quality attention the 2 hours in the evening we get with them. There may be times you would be asked to help with the on your “off time” but that is not something we abuse and you would receive additional compensation. We ask for a one year commitment from our nannies.
