PAID FAMILY MEMBER

About our family:

We are a family of four: father-Tom, mother- Erin, two boys - Brandt (12) and Tyler (9)). Our family atmosphere is casual and informal. Both parents work outside the home and travel extensively. We have 3 older cats (one is diabetic and needs insulin shots) and a fish aquarium. Brandt and Tyler are outgoing and enjoy reading, sports and various outdoor activities. We prefer a live-in situation as we need a nanny/house helper that can adapt to our our schedules. Tom's work requires him to be out of town approximately 3-4 days every week although the specific days might change on a weekly basis. Erin's work schedule varies from week to week and requires her to be "on-call" which might entail last minute scheduling changes. During the school year, our nannies typically work between 30-35 hours a week and have a lot of time off. A couple of times a year both parents will be out of town at the same time for a few days.

Our ideal nanny is:

The most important quality we need is trust. We are looking for a live-in nanny/house helper we can trust to take good care of our kids, pets and household details when both parents are out of the house. We also value flexibility. Our work schedules do change occasionally and we need someone who can be available, and is able to roll with the changes. In return, we work hard to ensure that our nanny receives plenty of time off. We also pay our nanny 365 days a year whether or not he/she works during a specific day. We see that as a fair way to compensate for our flexibility requirement. We value respect and honesty. We teach our children to be respectful of all people and to treat each other as they would like to be treated.
