I began babysitting for family and neighborhood kids at age ten. My first job was babysitting for our next door neighbors' infant and toddler. Later worked as a nanny, nanny/house manager, helped out in a family business; and explored various other employment options.
Finally returned to baby and child care, where my heart was at.
The first assignment came through an agency for a family with newborn twins. The babies cried all night and I had such patience that I specialized in the care of newborn multiples for the next 10 years earning the title of Newborn Infant Specialist.
This work transitioned into daytime nanny work with 4 of the families. In one of my last positions I was nanny/housekeeper for a family with two children
I'm currently seeking a live-in nanny position for a family with children of any ages.
I'm capable and experienced in all aspects of child and baby care as well as housekeeping and cooking.
I look forward to meeting you:)
Erika's childcare philosophy:
Relaxed and upbeat. I treat children the way I want to be treated, keeping a light hearted attitude with kids, not stressing too much over anything. That said, although I display a lot of tolerance and understanding, I expect them to follow the rules set forth by their parents. Basically we just have fun within the boundaries parents have set..
I like to get children active outside and limit the time they spend in front of a TV.

Tell us your experience working with newborns and infants. What did you find most
What did you find most rewarding?
13 years ago I began working with newborn infant twins and triplets.
The most challenging aspect was learning to comfort and quiet babies at night so the parents could sleep.
The most rewarding aspects were threefold:
1. Providing parents with sleep.
2. Being an active part of infant developmental stages. In one case, having the privilege of being involved with the family from the birth of their twins and continuing on for six years.
3. I simply adore babies and love caring for newborns. I also find that since I began my infant career caring for 2 babies, that, that is what I am used to. As a result 2 or 3 babies seem just as "easy" to care for as one...
for me anyway:)
