About Bonnie:

I am CPR & First Aid Certified, TB tested negative, fully vaccinated, and have Ohio & FBI fingerprint background checks. I enjoy reading to children & teaching them their colors, shapes, ABC's, numbers, arts & crafts, etc. I love the outdoors & enjoy taking children for walks, & to the playground. I love children & animals. I will assist with basic housekeeping & cooking; caring for the children is my first & main concern. I do not drive (have never driven) so I cannot run errands. I DO HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WORK. The fact that I don't drive will not hinder me in getting to work & being on time. I am a very responsible & dependable person. I am looking for a long term full-time (30 hrs. or more per wk.) nanny position. I feel that I have alot to offer a family.

Bonnie's childcare philosophy:

I fully believe that children are God's greatest gifts and should be loved, cherished, and cared for. I feel children should be exposed to learning and education at an early age. I think that children should be encouraged and praised. As a caregiver, I have always believed in explaining everything (such as) why you should or should not do something. Patience is what every nanny needs most. As for discipline, I believe in redirection and the calm down corner. I do not believe in spanking or belittling a child.

Tell us your experience working with newborns and infants. What did you find most challenging?
What did you find most rewarding?

I have 37 yrs. experience in the care of children. My speciality is caring for newborns through 4 years of age. I have been caring for infants since I was 12 years old; I am now 49 years old. The youngest child that I have cared for was 1 1/2 days old and a preemie. She is now 4 years old and still a big part of my life. I am experienced in feeding, bathing, and potty-training. I was working at a daycare center until it recently closed it's doors. I worked alot in the infant room. There one adult can be responsible for five infants at a time. The thing that I have found most challenging is temper tantrums and sometimes potty-training. Both require alot of love and patience. The thing that I have found most rewarding is helping children learn and grow and their smiles and hugs.
