About
Loretta:
I've been teaching in the child care field for 23 years. I've taught lots of children, ages from 6wks to 12 years. Most of my children have been very successful in grade school, some of them made the Dean's list at their different schools and some have successful jobs . I enjoy teaching because children are like a sponge they can soak up so much that you think that is beyond your expectations. I like art and creating art, painting, singing children songs, dancing, playing in dirt and educate the children about insects and things that may be found in dirt. I like to see the joy on a child's face when they have discovered they have conquered their task. I like having silly fun, because learning does not have to be boring just because you're learning. I guess you can say I like to make learning FUN.
Loretta's childcare philosophy:
My style is that I like to gain a child's trust and gain a strong positive relationship. I respect all children because they have feelings and need to know they count as much as anyone else. I like to pay attention to a child's mental growth as well as their physical growth, to keep the path of thinking and learning open to more problem solving, working things out for themselves because learning is always about trials and errors.

Tell us your experience working with newborns and infants. What did you find most
challenging?
What did you find most rewarding?
I've worked with newborns and infants for 4 years of the 23 years. Infants like for you to talk, mother ease, sing, cuddle, take care of their needs and feel loved.
The parents were most challenging. Most parents have separation anxiety or feel like they are abandoning their baby. I like to reassure the parent that their babies are in good hands and if anything occur they will get a phone call and they are more than welcome to call me.
The most rewarding is to see the parent face when they come pick up their child and happen to seethe child in progress of conquering a milstone.
