About
CONNIE:
I have been a full time nanny for 18 years for three families. I am devoted, dependable and fun. Recently I ended a job of eight years because they relocated to St. Louis. They have four boys ages 13, 11, 8 and 6.
I am married with two boys, they turned 2 and 4 in September. I am interested in finding a family who will also welcome my boys. The children will enjoy playing and growing together. They will also learn about sharing, patience and cooperation. The past eight years have been a wonderful experience for all six boys. I believe the kids learn as much from each other as they do from me.
I am adept at caring for multiple children of all ages. I clean up after the children and encourage them to pick up after themselves. I make nutritious meals and snacks. I can do the children's laundry as well as run errands.
I am an extension of the parents and with teamwork and communication we can raise children with happy hearts and minds.
CONNIE's childcare philosophy:
My childcare style is relaxed and fun. Caring for children requires constant vigilance, constant touch and constant communication. Each day I strive to encourage the development of language skills, manners, resourcefulness, safety, discipline, curiosity, empathy and creativity. I read, sing, laugh, explore and tell stories every day. Children learn by observing so I do my best to model integrity, patience and kindness.
Young children are constantly finding things that intrigue them. I enjoy taking those interests and exploring whatever they find fascinating. I allow the children to be the initiator of activities while I observe, support, respond and participate as the child requests.

Tell us your experience working with newborns and infants. What did you find most
challenging?
What did you find most rewarding?
I have extensive experience working with newborns. I was in charge of the infant room at an in home daycare. I was responsible for three infants. Two of the families I have been a nanny for had infants when I began. I also am a mother of two young boys.
The most challenging aspect of caring for newborns was time management. I discovered there are many ways to do things with just one hand because I am using my other hand to hold the baby.
The most rewarding experience working with infants is the baby's beautiful smile and his or her total trust in me. Babies are simple in their needs but complex in their wants. Yes, they want to be held but each baby has preferences that I have the patience to figure out.
