Hello there! I am a recent graduate from a private Christian University. I have my B.S. degree in Child and Family Sciences. My long-term goal is to become a Child Life Specialist, a pediatric hospital professional who serves as a liason to the child and families neeeds. With that being said, I would just like you to know that I love children and adore having the opportunity to work with them. I believe that since children are the furutre, it is important to raise them in a way that encourages self-efficacy, responsibility, respect for themselves and others and, above all, a genuine love and compassion for humanity. There is too much negativity and hate in the world to resort to teaching children anything other than love and acceptance. I relate well to children and have a good understanding of their needs, both physical and mental. I fully intend on applying my educational knowledge and personal experience towards being the best caregiver I can be. Thank you for your time!
Natasha's childcare philosophy:
I believe in working with and inspiring chlldren in a postive atmosphere using warm, loving guidance and support. Children learn by watching and mimicking the people around them and because of this, I believe that it is imperative to maintain a nurturing and positive demeanor that children can freely model themselves after. Developmentally appropriate activities are best for children as they allow the child to explore the world around them and gather information to expand their base of knowledge. Understanding the extent of physical and cognitive growth is important in the process of matintaining developmentally appropriate activities that will optimize the child's potential to learn and grow.

Tell us your experience working with newborns and infants. What did you find most
What did you find most rewarding?
For the past year, I have worked as a caregiver in a Preschool in Arkansas. A portion of that time was spent as the sole caregiver in the Nursery. At first, I was a little apprehensive about working with newborns and infants because I was used to working with school-age children who are capable of communicating their needs and wants verbally. The most challenging aspect of this particular placement, for me, was learning to distinguish types of cries from one another. Once I was able to do that, much of my worries were eased. The most rewarding aspect of working with newborns and infants, I have found, is my ability to help the children develop a healthy, normal attachment to the people around them. A child's healthy attachment to adults in their lives is a very important of their development and can help pave the pathway to positive relationship building in the future.
