About
Roxanne:
Currently, I am working as a preschool teacher teaching children between the ages of 1 and 3 years of age at a large biotech corporate preschool called Amgen in Thousand Oaks for the second time. Previously, I was a nanny to two wonderful boys in Westlake Village for 6 years and only left the family when the youngest child, my baby, began school full-time last year. I have also nannied for a family with twin daughters in El Segundo with twin daughters from the ages of 3 months until they entered kindergarten. Also, I use and teach baby sign language to infants and toddlers who have no verbal skills. I don't drink or smoke,I am certified in CPR and First Aid and have passed an extensive background check and have my fingerprints of file with the State of California.
Roxanne's childcare philosophy:
I'm a listener. What a child has to say is important, respected and wanted. I'm communicative and encourage children to talk about whatever they feel they may need to. My child care philosophy is built around this and I believe it's a big part of why I build quick bonds with the children I care for. I have a genuine love of children.

Tell us your experience working with newborns and infants. What did you find most
challenging?
What did you find most rewarding?
I have worked as a nanny for 2 seperate families for a total of 11 years and 4 infants. While working at a large preschool as a teacher for 3 years, I spent many days and weeks working in the infant rooms with babies from 6 weeks to 12 months of age. I was recently rehired at the same preschool as a toddler teacher and teacher children from 6 weeks to 3 years of age. Previous to my first employment at Camp Amgen, I also nannied for twin girls from the ages of 3 months until they entered kindergarten at the age of 5.
The most challenging aspect of my day was as an infant teacher and trying to meet the needs of 3 infants who desperately needed my attention at the same time. The most rewarding is watching them grow into the wonderful little people they were meant to be.
