{"id":204,"date":"2011-08-03T18:35:31","date_gmt":"2011-08-04T01:35:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.enannysource.com\/blog\/?p=204"},"modified":"2014-09-22T00:35:34","modified_gmt":"2014-09-22T07:35:34","slug":"should-i-tattle-on-a-nanny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.enannysource.com\/blog\/index.php\/2011\/08\/03\/should-i-tattle-on-a-nanny\/","title":{"rendered":"Should I tattle on a nanny?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently came across a post on Google News called \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/kids.baristanet.com\/2011\/08\/should-i-tattle-on-a-nanny\/\">Should I tattle on a nanny<\/a>?\u201d\u00a0 The story was about a woman who ran into a friend\u2019s daughter in Starbucks and went over to talk to the girl while the <a title=\"Nanny Screening\" href=\"..\/..\/find-a-nanny\/nanny-screening.aspx\">nanny<\/a> texted. The nanny never even looked up to see who her charge was talking to.<\/p>\n<p>I found this interesting since it wasn\u2019t black or white, but in a gray zone, at least for the writer of the article. It didn\u2019t involve child neglect or anything like that, just a total indifference to the nanny\u2019s charge.<\/p>\n<p>What I found interesting about this blog post was that the writer was so conflicted about telling the girl\u2019s mom. She even went so far as to say that she was upset about seeing this and has thought about it over and over. She seems to be concerned that her friend might not take the news well <a href=\"http:\/\/www.east-inflatables.com\/rentals\/\">East Inflatable Rentals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, if someone found my child in the same circumstances I\u2019d want to know right away so that I could evaluate what to do. Was this nanny too engrossed in a text conversation and this only happened once, or was this a regular occurrence? In what other ways isn\u2019t she attentive to my child? I bet the mom already has some doubts about this nanny and her friend telling her about this might cause her to take additional action.
