Hiring ASD savvy Nanny And Family Assistant In San Carlos

Fun, outdoors-loving San Carlos family with two school-age kids (Grades 4 & 2) and a friendly goldendoodle seeks a loving, detail-oriented nanny who brings calm consistency, structure, and care. One child is neurodivergent and thrives with predictable routines, gentle coaching during transitions, and support for emotional regulation. The family values clear communication, kindness, and partnership. They’ve had two long-term nannies and are looking for their next great teammate - expect respect, collaboration, and stability. Core Hours Monday–Friday • Morning: 7:00–9:00 AM – Prepare breakfast, help kids get ready, walk/bike to school, quick kitchen reset. • Afternoon: 1:00–7:00 PM – Home reset, snack/decompression, Grade 4 homework help, drive to activities, dinner prep, next-day prep. Daily Tasks AM (7–9 AM): Simple breakfast, morning routine coaching, school drop-offs, post-breakfast cleanup. Pre-pickup (1–3 PM): Dishwasher, kids’ laundry (2x/week), tidy common areas, vacuum/sweep (2x/week), errands, prep lunches/snacks, cook healthy dinners, tidy kids’ rooms, clean coffee maker. After school (3–7 PM): Snack/decompression, homework help, drive to activities (stay on-site), dinner with kids, kitchen tidy, prep for next day. Key Responsibilities • Run calm, predictable routines (snack, homework, play, dinner). • Support transitions with previews, gentle coaching, and positive reinforcement (token/prize system). • Get outside—bikes, playgrounds, parks! • Drive for school, activities, and errands (paid). • Afternoon family-assistant duties: kitchen reset, laundry, tidying, errands, prep. • Maintain clean, organized kid spaces. • Cook nutritious, simple kid meals (pasta, tacos, quesadillas, oatmeal, etc.). • Manage household tasks: dishes, counters, trash, light cleaning, laundry folding. Ideal Candidate • Loving but firm—warm most of the time, steady when it matters. • Reliable, punctual, and organized. • Skilled with transitions, emotional regulation, and positive behavior supports. • Proactive and detail-oriented. • Active and outdoorsy; comfortable helping with Grade 4 homework. • Experienced with ASD/ADHD/anxiety. • Safe, insured driver with clean record. • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to update). • Background-check ready and dog-friendly. Desired Qualifications • 2–10 years of experience caring for 2+ children. • Experience supporting neurodivergent kids. • Comfortable with housekeeping and laundry. • Clean driving record; strong cooking and time management skills.
